Journalist
Journalist willing to visit classrooms
Joanne Silberner
I'm currently an independent journalist, after stints at Science News, U.S. News and World Report, and 18 years at NPR. I taught journalism for 8 years at the University of Washington, and currently am an advisor to a journalism fellowship. Lately I've had stories in the New York Times, BMJ, NPR, STAT and WIRED. I've always enjoyed working on solutions stories - such a relief from gloom and doom.
