Introducing the 2024–25 Building Democracy Newsrooms

We're excited to announce the Building Democracy Fellowship, which will help more newsrooms use solutions journalism as a key piece of how they cover government. Fifteen newsrooms were selected from more than 50 strong applicants. Most serve diverse communities with lower-than-average voter turnout, and some will focus on covering key infrastructure investments contained in the $2 trillion Inflation Reduction Act.

Running from September 2024 to June 2025, the fellowship will equip the following newsrooms with the training and resources necessary to produce impactful solutions reporting on how governments are addressing their communities’ biggest challenges.
