Rishu Nigam is an independent writer, documentary filmmaker, and trainer with a focus on environmental and climate change issues. She spent nearly two decades at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a climate thinktank, managing diverse communication roles and initiatives. Her work included training a pan-Himalayan network of local journalists to report on climate change and setting up a community radio station in Nainital, where she trained farmers as radio broadcasters.

Rishu is involved with Green Hub, a media fellowship where she serves as a jury member, storytelling trainer, and mentor. Green Hub trains rural and tribal youth in environmental filmmaking, equipping them to contribute to grassroots conservation movements. She plans to integrate solutions journalism in her training with future Green Hub cohorts.

Besides her training roles, Rishu consults with various non-governmental organizations in India and the World Bank’s climate change team in South Asia.
