A tree grows out of an open book

We all want climate journalism to be healthier, more informative, and more actionable. So does Covering Climate Now. So do hundreds of journalists. And we bet you do too.

Covering Climate Now, Columbia Journalism Review, The Guardian, The Nation and SJN hosted Climate Changes Everything in 2023. More than 200 working journalists attended. There, and in ensuing conversations, we sought input, collaborative discussion and feedback to inform what is now The Climate Blueprint for Media Transformation.

To build it, we assigned articles on each issue to climate journalists and media leaders who'd participated in the conversations. The assignment for each section was simple: Take an issue within climate reporting, and based on your experience and research, give climate journalists several pieces of advice on best practices to build stronger, more impactful climate media.
