Matt Wheeland

Matt Wheeland is the operations director of Civil Eats and a long-time environmental journalist. Over the past 20 years, he has covered a huge variety of topics centered on sustainability, policy, and social justice. The teams and projects he has worked on have earned widespread recognition and awards, and he is most fulfilled by learning about and sharing real-world solutions to complex challenges and helping journalists approach their work in new ways. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys music, cooking, cycling, and being in or on the water.
